Castañer

In 1927 the first Castañer workshop was founded, since then Castaner have turned a popular form of footwear into a sophisticated product closely associated with design and fashion.

The ‘60s and 70’s are years of generational change, reinvention of the brand and a high point in Castañer’s history. Lorenzo Castañer and Isabel took over and turned the business upside down by adding colour to the espadrilles, transforming them into a genuine mediterranean product and fashionable shoe. Since taking advice from designer Yves Saint Laurent's at a Paris fair, Intellectuals, artists, actors and personalities have become Castañer’s unconditional supporters exhibiting their espadrilles around the world.

Castañer’s espadrilles have been present season after season in the collections of luxury fashion brands becoming an essential wardrobe item of people all over the world.
