Harley Of Scotland Shaggy Dog Shetland Wool Crew Neck Jumper Loch Blue

This shaggy dog jumper has been made with the same quality since the 1970s in the Shetland Islands in northern Scotland, the home of incredibly light and warm knitwear. It is made from 100% pure Shetland wool and is called "Shaggy Dog" because it resembles a fluffy muku dog. The surface is raised by scratching it with the thorn of a thistle (Scotland's national flower) to create a layer of air, which is said to have reduced the cold. The knitted surface is deliberately brushed to give a soft, fluffy look. The brushed surface allows plenty of air between the fibres to create warmth and keep out the cold. It is also very durable, light, very soft and breathable.

Knitted in Aberdeenshire, Harley Of Scotland's Shetland Sweaters have become world renowned for their seam free finish and 'in the round' hand knitted effect. Offering a smooth and flattering silhouette, the yarn is milled in the softest of Scottish waters and sourced from a 200 year old local spinner.
