The pattern is based on the herringbone trousers of the US Marine Corps (USMC) from the 1940s, and a special washing process gives them a strong puckering effect, creating a vintage feel. While there are many Ivy League style chinos, these are classic, wide-legged, rugged military trousers.
Based on the concept of authentic men's clothing that can be worn for many years without going out of style, Beams Plus proposes modern, basic utility wear based on American uniform clothing from the 1940s to the mid-1960s.
