Quaker Marine Supply Swordfish Hat Patchwork Madras Tartan

The founder of Quaker Marine Supply and a veteran of the Coast Guard, Joe Kadison, created this hat with functionality as a priority, drawing from his personal experiences at sea. As is the case with many items designed for specific purposes, it has developed a unique character over time. To begin with, the bill measures a notable 3/4" in length, making the Swordfish’s brim 25% longer than that of a typical ball cap. The reason for this design choice is that it provides effective sun protection when extended to this length. In contrast to the conventional 6-panel hats commonly found today, this particular hat is crafted with 4 lateral panels, resulting in a low profile that minimises wind resistance. True to its original design, it includes four eyelets on each side panel to facilitate ventilation. Constructed from Patchwork Madras , it is designed for performance and longevity, and features a dark green underbrim that effectively absorbs reflected light.
