Regimental ties are a staple of Ivy League and American traditional styles. The pattern of stripes in multiple colours is the very definition of preppy. This multicoloured regimental stripe pattern is original to Beams Plus. The regimental stripe pattern slopes downwards, the opposite of the commonly seen European regimental stripes that slope upwards. The tie is single-layered and unlined, retaining the details of the 1960s. This is due in part to the era's emphasis on mass production, but also to allow for the creation of beautiful small knots that match plain knots.
