Quaker Marine Supply is a Brooklyn outfitter making clothes inspired by the rich Maritime culture of the North East USA. ⁠2nd Academic is proud to be Quaker Marine’s first UK stockist for our AW25 collection.

QMS was founded in 1949 by a Coast Guard veteran named Joe Kadison who designed and sold a new style of cap for boaters. The longbilled Oysterman caps found in AW25 curation were designed as such for enhanced protection from the wind and sun at sea.

These features gave it a distinct look and in subsequent years it become an iconic piece of headwear adorned by icons such as Ernest Hemingway, David Hockney and David Lynch.
